About David

 

David has been providing Chiropody / Podiatry in the Largs area and Dunoon and Cowal area for the last thirty years. 

 

A "Largs local", David has gained a reputation for being a caring, thoughtful, reliable and friendly professional, who is fully qualified to provide Podiatry and Chirpody treatments for various injuries and conditions.

 

Earlier this year the practice was awarded membership to the Society of Chiropodist and Podiatrists PRACTICE ACCREDITATION SCHEME- one of the first in Ayrshire.

In achieving accreditation status, David not only undertook a careful review of the practice, verified by a fellow Podiatrist, but he also agreed to the practice being inspected by independant inspectors appointed by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

 

David applied for Practice Accreditation because he felt that his clients have the right to be confident that their care is being provided within a safe environment.

 

The scheme, among other things, ensures that:

• reusable instruments are properly cleaned and sterilised between patients.

• he will continue his professional development so as to keep their knowledge and skills up to date.

• patient confidentiality is respected and the proper care is taken with patient information.

• treatment options and costs are explained, where appropriate, so that the patient can make an informed choice.

• appropriate referral pathways exist for patients who need specialist care.

• practice working methods are constantly reviewed.

• the practice has full wheelchair access.

 

David is confident that the care you receive within his practice will be of the highest standard.

 

David is a past council member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. He is the present Chairman of the Argyll and Bute Branch of the Society and represents the Branch at the Society's Scottish Regional Council, of which he is the present chairman.

David has been elected National Chairman of the Delegate Assembly for the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists for 2019. He is also representing the Delegate Assembly at council meetings for the next two years. 

 

David is a Fellow of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and was awarded the Society's Meritorious Award for his work in promoting the podiatry profession in Scotland.
